For over 130 years, hard working men rely on Wolverine. The 1000 Mile boot collection is a tribute to their heritage setting highest benchmarks on quality, comfort and durability since 1914. Today their footwear is found on dusty roads and city avenues alike.
G. A. Krause founded Wolverine in Rockford, Michigan, to provide boots to miners and workers building up the first railway across America. Although technologies have changed, requirements for functional footwear persist: Wolverine exclusively uses finest hides from Horween, one of the oldest tanneries in the U.S. Furthermore, Wolverine relies on the complex Goodyear welting technique: shoe frame and sole are sewn carefully to the upper leather as the ensemble is brought into shape. Thus, each boot is extremely durable yet ergonomically flexible. The sole itself is built from several layers for perfect isolation to walk on even the iciest frozen grounds.
